Pre Production

  1. The first cover is not at all bad Joel with some reasonable evidence that you understand the codes and conventions of the medium you are working in. the layout is appropriate and the 'copy' (written content) is suitable.

However, there isn't enough content on either magazine, especially the second one. Magazine covers are 'bursting' with information about content and every possible bit of space is used to give the audience the feeling that they are buying a good value product which is bursting with content.

The writing should be justified at the edges- i.e. in a straight line on the left and the right hand sides of the page. Some of your use of colour is also questionable- the yellow writing on the white background is virtually ineligible and so some reworking of fonts, sizes, layout and colour is needed.

Also, you need to show evidence of media convergence- this is when the product has a presence on a number of platforms so for magazines, this means having a website address, a Facebook link and Twitter logo for example.
